About Avi Eliassaf
Born in Israel, 1955, lives in Israel
After twenty five years of hard labor,
exchanged the world of business and technology
for life of creativity closer to nature/
The sculptures deal with transitions
from slavery to freedom, from the inside out.
From within the experience of the holocaust second generation,
memories are examined by generating a sense of imprisonment and oppression.
The pain and loss are marked in the stone, creating tension
between the absent, which stands exposed and hollow, and the present.
